A downstairs basement bedroom had water run in from the egress window under the sill. The bedroom carpet was soaked and the drywall looks to be damaged. I sucked up about 2 gallons of water out of the carpet and it is mostly dry, but now I'm starting to notice a musty smell in the basement.

Water is not properly diverted away from the townhome in one corner. Water enters basement trickling indoors alongside the foundation down by the floorboards. My townhome association told me we need a grading diverting the water away from the home. A basement systems company told me I should install a sump pump and pvc pipe drainage.

There is settled water in the basement of my mother-in-law's home and I want to schedule an appt to assess the damage and get a quote to clean/waterproof. The drain is not working so heavy rains cause water to come in to basement.
